A Generous Gift from Once Again Nut Butter
A couple of years ago, Andy and I were discussing ways to expand our impact through Brothers of the Bread. We often talked about finding simple, nourishing items we could distribute to the pantries we support. One idea that stuck with us was assembling care packages with fresh bread, nut butter, and jelly. It was a vision rooted in simplicity, three ingredients that, when combined, could offer comfort and sustenance to someone facing hunger.
Andy knew of a company in Perry, NY called Once Again Nut Butter. Their reputation for high-quality, organic products made them an ideal partner for this concept. Andy attempted to contact them, but like many plans in nonprofit work, the timing never quite aligned. Sadly, Andy passed before we could see that vision through.
I reached out to Once Again Nut Butter, sharing a bit about our mission and the work we do to fight food insecurity. To my surprise and gratitude, they responded not only with interest but with an incredibly generous donation of over one ton of organic almond butter.
An unbelievable 2,300 pounds (1,536 Jars) of almond butter. This kind of support is not just helpful, it is transformative. Almond butter is shelf-stable, nutrient-dense, and deeply appreciated by the food pantries partners we serve. While we are currently out of jelly, this donation allows us to begin supplying our partner pantries with a delicious and comforting staple.
We made the trip to Perry, NY, to pick up the donation yesterday (5/15/2025). It is ready and available for distribution immediately. Whether you are a pantry partner, volunteer, or supporter, please know this donation belongs to all of us. It is a reflection of the relationships we have built and the lives we hope to impact together.
Andy may no longer be with us, but his spirit lives on in moments like this, where an idea becomes action, and kindness meets opportunity. We are deeply grateful to Once Again Nut Butter for their trust and generosity, and we look forward to putting this gift to good use.
